FRENZIED FANS GREET KERI HILSON AT CAVENDISH SQUARE

International singing sensation, Keri Hilson was greeted by thousands of frenzied fans at her first public appearance in Cape Town at Cavendish Square on Thursday, 15 October 2009.

The R&B singer was accompanied on her visit to Cavendish Square by her mother and sister.

Madrie Verwey, Marketing Manager for Cavendish Square said, “When one of our retailers, Jonathan Girnun from Pulsate presented us with the opportunity to host Keri Hilson at an exclusive signing session, we jumped at the opportunity and pulled out all the stops to make it a success in a very short time period, but we couldn’t have done it without the support of many of the Cavendish Square retailers. We were absolutely overwhelmed by the public response and the pulling power of Keri. The centre was absolutely jam packed with people desperate to catch a glimpse of Keri and perhaps get their picture taken with her or a CD signed by her. The parking at Cavendish Square was filled to capacity which indicates just how many people flocked to the centre to see her, “

Madrie added, “It was wonderful to get such incredible support from our retailers who definitely contributed to the success of the event. A big thank you must go to Jonathan Girnun from Pulsate one of our main sponsors for the event, to Damjees jewellery who gave Keri a magnificent Diamond and Green Gemstone neck-piece from their “Colours of Africa” range” worth R18 000, Look ‘n Listen for arranging for sale of her CDs in the Centre Court, Col’Cacchio Cavendish and Look ‘n Listen for sponsoring prizes for the lucky draw competition.”

The lucky winner of the autographed copy of Keri Hilson’s latest CD, “In a perfect world”, was Mufudzi Ndlovu from Rosebank, and the winner of the R200 Col’Cacchio dinner voucher was Che Wrenn from Athlone.

Said Jonathan Girnun from Pulsate of his involvement in the event, “It’s been absolutely fantastic being involved in bringing Keri Hilson to Cavendish Square. She is a true diva and having her in the centre was an awesome experience. The signing session was a great success and I look forward to more great ventures with the centre.”
